Atmospheric Desire

~ the key to everything you want in life ~

Nestled inside the haven, the wind roars a symphony I begin humming to.

Thick, fat, heavy raindrops pummel the skylights like Mike Tyson in his prime.

Above the trees, the clouds slink down, down, down into a pea soup-like ceiling.

Below the trees, rogue, wispy tendrils of fog snake their way through the branches.

While Mother Nature unleashes her pent-up energy, momentum, and water… I sigh.

New layers to The Compass of Desire have been discovered recently, building on the initial reunderstanding of what desire really is:

The pulse of what’s real for you… the illogical-yet-undeniable pull towards hummingbirds, street art, music, cacao, cats, or however the Universe delights you…

Mapping the rainbow of my desires with specifics, nuance, and detail.

———

Around me, reality swirls, blends, folds back into itself, melds.

Rich, velvety soft purple curtains hang from the heavens.

Pinks intertwine with blues. Purples bleed out of blacks.

Copper and gold dance fiercely with one another.

The air feels thick-yet-liquid, like honey, and smells similarly sweet.

Candles float of their own accord, their flames sparkling like diamonds.

Tiny plumes of sandalwood-scented smoke waft gently through the haven.

Around me, I can see my rainbows of desire manifesting into reality: beauty, softness, and felinity, peace, grace, and music, play, creation, and sweet, silly love.

I inhale this cornucopia of desire turned into a blissful atmosphere… and I sigh.

‘Atmospheric Desire’ is new, an evolution from early-stage desire, which manifests like, “I want you to want me,” “I don’t want to lose this,” “this or that needs to happen.”

In contrast, Atmospheric Desire speaks like, “I like who I am in your presence,” “I trust the pace and timing to move naturally,” “let’s see what unfolds without forcing.”

One of the tangled knots in the world’s web of problems are decisions made from early-stage desire, which rarely come from security, coherence, or empathy… instead fuelled by subconscious and unconscious chasing, seeking, proving, or rushing.

That’s not a sturdy foundation to take action from.

Whereas Atmospheric Desire comes from orienting, settling, softening, and flowing…

You create an environment in which what you want can rest, bloom, and flourish.

Chasing, seeking, proving, rushing…

Vs…

Orienting, settling, softening, flowing.

Enough said.

———

I sink into cloud-like softness, the raindrops drumming their message into me:

Desire can rise from your body’s depths, like hunger or arousal.

Desire can flow from your heart, like love or connection.

Desire can surge from your spirit, like purpose or creation.

Integration of your desire means not following these urges blindly, but pausing, looking, listening for the message underneath. Which sometimes means following a different path than you thought or expected. Sometimes listening means setting aside your desire for this or that entirely, once and for all.

Desire doesn’t mandate action—for sometimes action is the very thing that kills desire.

What you desire forms a map of your inner world, revealing which parts of you want to grow, heal, or come alive… and the absence of desire can be equally revealing too.

———

Whatever you desire isn’t unreasonable, too much, or more than you deserve.

But the realization of your desires won’t happen—at least not sustainably or in the ways you wish—through chasing, seeking, proving, rushing. You’ll grasp, but not hold.

Instead, orienting towards your desire, settling into its truth, softening your expectations for what the result will be, and allowing life to flow through you…

That’s the key that unlocks the door to everything you’ve ever wanted.

With love from the forest,
