Eyes Cut Deeper

Thursday, May 7th, 2026. 4:48pm.

Potatoes roasting in the oven.

Cats lounging in the garden.

Gummy bears in hand.

No music.

I didn’t anticipate today being heavy. 

There was supposed to be mead and cake, not potatoes and silence.

A lot of energy went into making this song. I learned in hours what once turned me away for seven years. A  concept emerged, and I was able to bring that vision to life with a quality that I’m proud of. Especially for a first production project.

My understanding of my own art grew, changed then grew and changed again.

I finally proved to myself I can do something that I never really doubted I could.

But one remix doesn’t make a producer. One song doesn’t make a set. I can see that the road ahead is long and unforgiving. I feel the weight of choosing this path. 

That’s where the heaviness lies.

Not from completion of a first step, but recognition of what’s ahead.

Play, beauty, and joy, yes—but challenge, rejection, and failure too.

Let them all in.

You finally opened the tap.

Music will pour out whether you like it or not.
