Mythic Alchemy: Where Transformation Happens

~ here when you're ready ~

A year of slow, meandering, devotional rebuilding from the inside-out…

Followed by a ten day immersion ‘build-a-thon’ of creative architecture…

Culminating in a fortuitously timed pilgrimage to see Alison Wonderland play…

Where the countless threads of life I’ve been untangling, holding, and weaving together all this time, coalesced into ping after ping of proof that I’ve become who I always knew I could be—who I was absolutely nowhere close to ever being before.

———

For much of my life, I was labelled as quiet, shy, and introverted.

Rarely by myself—almost always by others.

Those labels always felt misapplied, but eventually I gave up on trying to explain the difference to people and waved the fight flag on myself, sheepishly consenting to being placed into these boxes that held some truth, but never the full picture.

In the right environments, I’m none of those things—and I’m not talking about raves.

What I am is deeply, sharply selective with where I allow my energy to flow.

I don’t leak energy on people or experiences that don’t light me up. I can read instantly whether or not that’s going to be the case. I decide intuitively, and fast.

Which can present as aloof, disinterested, even cold and closed off to some.

But the consequences of allowing your energy to flow into less-than-ideal aren’t worth the price of admission to whatever less than ideal is supposed to bring you.

You may have felt this cost from relationships that drain, rather than charge, you.

From jobs that run you down, rather than lift you up.

From experiences that never felt like yours.

I wasn’t always like this though.

I spent a long time settling for relationships, romantic and platonic, simply because someone else wanted one—rather than a mutual desire to build something together.

I spent a long time doing work I was plenty capable of, but not excited about.

I spent a long time denying the experiences I wanted to have.

But no more.

Living your life is one of the hardest things to do.

Look around. Most never get close.

Most people’s lives are shaped by the ideas and expectations of others. By the warped decision-making, values, and beliefs born of unprocessed trauma.

Self-authorship is a lost art form.

You can take ownership for your life and shape every detail to your desire.

That’s self-authorship. Or you can let your life be shaped for you.

Every single day, you choose one or the other, consciously or not.

Becoming who you wish to be, living the life you want, is a matter of integration.

Integration is the weaving of all your life’s threads into a greater whole.

First, you define the gap between where you are now and where you want to be.

Then you follow the path from here to there—which will require integrating unresolved pieces of your past, your dreams and desires, your inner power.

Which is why I built Mythic Alchemy.

Mythic Alchemy is the next piece of Emberbrook I wish to share.
