The Writing Jollies

A funny thing has happened since I start penning whimsies again.

Despite knowing I wanted to pick up the pen again, I wasn’t expecting to want to send you stories and whimsies more than twice per week—nor did I expect to have that much to say, share, and pass along. Yet here we are…

Already sitting pretty with 8 whimsies loaded in the cannon, a thick list of stories in my archives to refresh, and a handful of ideas to explore.

That’s what I like to call the ‘Writing Jollies’.

Even so, I’m sticking with my plan of publishing two whimsies per week.

I have a tendency to take bigger bites than I can handle when I’m excited about something, which has often led to burning out and losing interest. So instead, I’m going to work on surfing this wave of the writing jollies.

Ironically, despite the heart of this whimsie, I don’t have much else to say today. I’m feeling quite grateful for the many warm returns in response to last week’s “I’m back” story, and am heartened that you enjoy the words I spill.

Thank you for giving me the space to do so once again, despite the lengthy absence—and may these whimsies be worth your time and attention.
