Also Got A Crush On Truth

~ not dandelion fluff ~

Something strange happens when you allow truth into your life.

When you burn the masks in your closet.

When you set down the yoke of extrinsic motivation.

When you build your life around who you are, not who you were told to be.

Welcome to the human version of I’ve Got A Crush On Beauty, where in the external world, bright colours have been replaced with monochrome, intricate designs have been swapped for minimalist logos, and craftsmanship traded for production.

Here, one human’s desire has been funneled into another’s payday. Self-expression is in a streetfight with sameness. And the truth is buried in comfortable lies.

Don’t wanna live in that world either.

Hook me up with an allergy to misalignment instead.

Give me a life of my own design.

Let desire breath.

Getting here requires letting go of much of what you know, relearning who you are.

People, places, things.

Beliefs, values, perspectives.

Masks are no longer an option.

Only your truthiest truths will suffice.

Find them. Trust them. Follow them.

But know that what you find will threaten the foundation of who you are.

And if you let the truth out and your foundation breaks, you’ll have earned the rare, delicious opportunity to rebuild yourself and the exact version of life you want.

And if you let the truth out and your foundation breaks, you’ll have earned the rare, delicious opportunity to rebuild yourself and the exact version of life you want.

That’s a small price to pay for the kind of freedom few ever truly taste.

With love from the cabin,

~ Alexander

P.S. I try to avoid bogging Whimsies down with sciencey, step-by-step writing, which clashes horribly with “stories for becoming alive.” But if you want to explore the foundations of the perspective I’ve shared above, start here:

  • Self-determination theory

  • Existentialism philosophy

  • Depth psychology

This is not dandelion fluff.
