The Architecture of a Meaningful Life

~ where myth bleeds into reality ~

My mind cannot keep up…

My body knows, but staggers…

I collapse to the floor, kneeling…

This simply cannot be happening…

The story I began writing months ago is bleeding into reality.

———

My writing took a turn towards the philosophical as Summer bled into Fall.

What I didn’t realize I was doing at the time was, piece by piece, developing the rubric for how I meet and navigate the world: my philosophy for life, if you will.

Thus, I’m not merely sharing stories or ideas with you.

I’m revealing how I think, feel, process, integrate, and live.

The underlying goal of my philosophy?

Same as most everyone: to craft a life I love living.

The core difference in my approach is that I refuse to chase, seek, or grasp.

This is why I don’t set goals. I don’t aim at targets. I don’t force.

Instead, I cultivate resonance—which pulls, attracts, magnetizes.

I’ve found this easier and more energetically efficient—the trade-offs being an unpredictable, non-linear pace, and the requirement of digging deeply into yourself.

———

Everything I’ve ever wanted in life…

Everything I’m discovering I seek…

Everything I’ve oriented towards…

Is bleeding into reality.

———

My philosophy is not for everyone.

I won’t persuade you into belief, value, or behaviour change.

Those choices are yours to make—yours alone, in the temple of your heart.

I share what I share to pass along what’s been effective and helpful for me.

Written with a bow to Mr. Bruce Lee:

“Adapt what is useful, reject what is useless, and add what is specifically your own.”

Hidden in this quote is the guiding principle for personal growth: encouraging us to absorb valuable ideas, information, and techniques, while discarding what you don’t find helpful, and integrating your own experience into the mix.

In other words: don’t follow anyone blindly, but listen to those you find interesting.

Live from your own sovereignty, flecked with colour from the lives of others.

———

My chest feels warm, spacious, and solid, with a gravitational pull…

Laughter bursts from my throat, sudden and unstoppable…

Electricity moves through my body like I’ve swallowed lightning…

Somehow, the impossible is bleeding into reality.

———

This year has opened my eyes to what becomes possible when you quiet your mind, open your heart, free your spirit, which is a custom mantra based on a line from this spoken word track, Sit Around The Fire.

Back in February when I journeyed with a guide, during a quiet moment, she put on Sit Around The Fire. Which was the trigger I’d been unwittingly waiting for, and the nudge I needed to find the ember buried in the ash I’d spent years languishing in.

I’ve since nurtured that ember into not just a roaring blaze, but a fire I have complete control over. I can choose who and what gets to receive the warmth. I know what depletes and what fuels. I know what happens when I let the flame run amok. I know the signs, quiet and loud, when my fire needs fuel or oxygen. I’ve tamed the flame.

When you reach this place, the world is your oyster.

Not in the wishy-washy sense of hopes and dreams that exist as fantasy, but in the real, rooted sense of consciously turning what you desire into an inevitability.

This is genuine power.

This is real magic.

You have the map.

Use it if you dare.

———

Every afternoon, I spend hours with the trees.

I inhale their scent with the intensity of an addict.

I graze my hands across their rough bark, over the soft moss.

I can’t help it. I have to. I crave the forest more than ever. I need to be held.

With love from the forest,

~ Alexander
